Banchory West Church hosted a very special 'Zero' Birthday Party on Sunday March 29th.
The aim was to raise funds for the Nansato Nursery Trust in Malawi which the church supports.
The Trust was set up exactly 20 years ago to the date of the party, and it is still going strong having supported thousands of nursery children over the years.
When planning how to mark this special anniversary, it was discovered that there were several members of the congregation who were celebrating special 'zero' birthdays this year, so an afternoon tea party was arranged.
Over 100 people came and the wonderful sum of £1,450 was raised.
The picture above shows a few of the people celebrating these special birthdays this year.
Unfortunately, not all of them could be present on the day with more than thirty in the congregation celebrating these milestones - covering nine decades too!
Could this be a record we ask? We have babies, three 10 year olds, one 20, three 40s , one 50, three 60s, ten 70s, eight 80s, three 90s and one 100 year old who all worship in our church.
They are all part of our regular church family and our ever growing youth group. On average twenty five teenagers and thirty primary aged children attend each week, which is pretty remarkable.
Huge credit has to be given to our dedicated and inspirational minister Rev Tony Stephen and our amazing youth leaders Sharon Wilkinson and Kirsi Gibson.
We have a wonderful congregation who support us all with faithful prayer.
