This is the place for those who serve in church to find resources:
On Presbyterianism
Our very own Rev Dr Marjory MacLean from Orkney Islands wrote a book “Church of Scotland Governance: The Underlying Principles” which serves as an introduction to Presbyterianism.
This book will be useful to anyone who is new to the Church of Scotland, whether you're a new elder, a new minister or starting to work on a committee.
Church of Scotland Governance, or ‘the grey book’ as it’s likely to become known, addresses the long-term structures of the Church, those elements of our polity that do not change as our legislation develops from year to year. It discusses our constitutional make-up, our system of Courts, the complementary roles of Church Law and Civil Law (including Charity Law), and the way our processes and regulations work in the everyday life of a congregation. Readers are directed to the legal information on the Church’s web-site and elsewhere for more detailed materials about rules and processes that change from time to time.
The book is available from Amazon.
Most importantly, you will be able to purchase it at the reduced price of £5 at the June Presbytery Meeting.

We also have around 7000 books on a wide array of theological and religious topics which may be of interest (the full catalogue is available here).
Please email Dr Joel Pierce (joel.pierce@abdn.ac.uk) beforehand for he needs to be present during your visit.
