Did you know that some of the pupils at Mackie Academy in Stonehaven had a successful run of the Alpha Youth Series?
It was a bold decision on behalf of the pupils and involved some preparation: they got permission from school management, recruited some practical support of a couple of teachers and a local church youth worker. The Series ran in the school library after school during the final term of the 2023-24 academic year.
Joe, one of the pupils involved, said, "We started with only a few guests on the first week. However, I kept praying for more to come along and then over the next couple of weeks people from every school year started coming along and enjoyed it! By the end of the course there were 14 of us! Running it was very rewarding spiritually as I felt close to God and I was able to talk about the gospel with both Christians and non-Christians freely, having fun in fellowship with one another. The structure of the course meant that we could get to know each other better, learn more about Jesus together and play games together, as well as eating lots of nice snacks. I would love to run another Youth Alpha course soon."
